Oahu, Hawaii!!

Disclaimer: this is a long post. 3,000 Miles is not responsible for unexpected eye-hemorrhaging.

Today is Day 4 of our glorious honeymoon and we have had a wonderful trip so far! The Ihilani Resort is luxurious beyond our comprehension - it's beautiful and filled with beautiful people. I have been perfectly satisfied on the days that we just stay in our room and around the hotel.

The view from our balcony.

One of my favorite parts of all - the bathroom!

Because of the 6-hour time difference from North Carolina, we have been going to bed like geezers and waking up at the crack of dawn.

Sunrise around 6:30am.

Our not-so-good-attempt at a couple's picture before dinner on Tuesday night.

View of the sunset from our table at dinner.

On Wednesday, however, we went to the Northwest shore of the island for early morning-snorkeling and lunch.
We rode the bus to get our rental car.

Fell in love with this little Suzuki.

The Dole Pineapple plant!

Our catamaran - ahoy mates!

Captain Ryan.

First mate, Cody.

Shore where the TV show Lost was filmed!

You'll have to wait until we get our disposable under-water camera to see some of the incredible exotic fish that we swam next to, but I've posted a video of our awe-inspiring spinner dolphin encounter! That has definitely been one of my favorite memories so far.

Isn't he just sugary?

So happy after such a fun venture!

We ate lunch on the boat and got back to shore around 12:30pm. After chatting with el capitan, we took some suggestions and went for a drive around the North Shore of Oahu. Good call. We found little markets, stunning beaches, and gigantic mountains. And because of our stellar Suzuki, we only used a quarter of a tank of gas for over 4 hours of driving! Score!

Locally grown coffee? Yes, please.

Hawaiian soda. Delish.

Ingles?

Mmm...fresh fried banana.

A huge chunk of the freshest pineapple we have ever laid hands on.
Gone in about 2 minutes flat. Juicy, succulent, and unforgettable.
Too passionate about a little pineapple?
You get your tushie down here and try it.

That is one gorgeous beach!

We couldn't get over the fact that we were standing on what was once molten lava.

The drive was INCREDIBLE! My camera does it no justice.
